The 22-year-old rookie goaltender was unbeaten in regulation in February, going 5-0-2 with a 1.06 goals-against average and a save percentage of .971. Runner-up for ECHL Saver of the Week for two straight weeks (February 14-20 and February 21-27), Jaeger set a team scoreless streak record by not allowing a goal for 166:52 from February 15-20, surpassing the previous mark by 56 minutes.
After being forced to leave because of injury in his first start of the month, the 5-10 and 190-pound Jaeger record on February 12 and stopped 42 shots in a 4-1 win at San Diego and later shut out the Gulls 1-0 on February 18. Following a shootout loss at Victoria on February 15, Jaeger stopped all 20 shots he faced on February 16 before receiving a game misconduct one minute into the third period. Following a 3-2 win over Las Vegas on February 20, Jaeger stopped 49 shots in a 2-1 shootout win at Alaska on February 26. He closed out the month with a 4-3 shootout loss at Alaska, making 13 saves in regulation and five saves in overtime after entering the game in relief of starter Jamie Hodson.
Jaeger is 6-0-3 in his last nine games to improve to 13-5-6 with two shutouts and a goals-against average of 2.40 and a save percentage of .930.
Prior to turning professional, the native of Manning, Alberta played in the Alberta Junior Hockey League with Drayton Valley and three seasons in the Western Hockey League with Medicine Hat, Vancouver and Saskatoon. Jaeger was named Most Valuable Player in the AJHL in 2003-04 and also was named Most Valuable Player in the AJHL All-Star Game. He was 23-18-4 with a goals-against average of 2.60 in 50 games with Saskatoon in 2002-03, earning WHL weekly honors for November 25-December 1.
